Provides direction and support to all affiliate locations for standardization of care of the STEMI programs. Provides leadership as an extension of the program Medical Director, serving as a clinical expert, educator, consultant and liaison for the medical and nursing teams. Facilitates the coordination of patient care activities in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary healthcare team, partnering with EMS and the community. Serves as the Chest Pain Center Accreditation Coordinator to achieve and maintain the Affiliate Chest Pain Center Accreditation. Provides collaborative support to other Affiliate locations for the achievement of CPC accreditation. Serves in role of Chest Pain Center Accreditation Coordinator to achieve and maintain GMH Chest Pain Center Accreditation. Provides collaborative support to other GHS facilities for achievement of CPC accreditation.

- Collaborates with leadership to identify referral hospitals and obtain agreements for participation in the Affiliate STEMI program. Responsible for initial gap assessment of AMI care within each hospital. Works with facility leadership to achieve program standardization, recommending and monitoring adoption of systematic changes to improve speed of therapy and the rapid transfer for patients unable to be treated at the primary hospital. Requires regular travel to referral sites to conduct on-going process improvement education
- Manages STEMI Committee meetings and AMI action team (to include case review for quality). Chairs the Chest Pain Center Accreditation Committee for the Affiliate. Works with supporting departments such as Epic, Pre-hospital medicine, documentation specialist, etc. to maintain or improve systems
- Collaborates with data abstractor(s) to identify, collect, enter data. Monitors and evaluates quality benchmarks. Responsible for report preparation, analysis and actions plans for program success.
- Provides team development for inter facility, emergency medical system, regional professional and facility staff involved in STEMI and AMI as related to Chest Pain Center Accreditation.
- Serves as the Chest Pain Center Accreditation Coordinator to achieve and maintain affiliate CPC accreditation. Responsible to lead and coordinate the CQI process to improve care of the chest pain patient throughout the continuum of care. Develops Affiliate Program goals in conjunction with the Medical Director. Interfaces with accrediting agency (American College of Cardiology Accreditation Services) for the evaluation of the Affiliate accreditation process. Responsible for retrieval, organization and update of all materials required for accreditation, both pre and post survey. Organize and lead Affiliate survey date activities.
- Provides oversight for CARES registry and interacts with CARE organization for communication and reporting.
- Other job duties, not limited to: Serves as Cardiology representative to various Affiliate committees, represents the Affiliate in Community outreach and education for various community organizations and events. Represents the Affiliate at the state level to the South Carolina Hospital Association
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities - This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements - Education - Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Experience - Five (5) years cardiology Nursing
