Responsibilities

  • The Registered Nurse is primarily responsible for using the nursing process of assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide care to assigned patients.
  • Responsible and accountable for identifying and prioritizing needs, formulating the plan of care, prioritizing/managing/delegating interventions and collaborating with the physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • A graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • Must possess a current Oklahoma License as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must obtain and maintain a current certification in CPR.
  • The SDU Staff RN must maintain ACLS.
  • New graduate nurses have up to six months to obtain their ACLS. Experienced new hires have 90 days to obtain ACLS.
  • NIHSS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • At least one year of experience as Registered Nurse. Will consider prior LPN experience where applicable.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • One or more years of experience in a Step Down Unit. Med/Surg experience with an aptitude for developing new skills will be considered.
