  • Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.

Responsibilities

  • The position of the PACU nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to identify patient needs for continuous assessment in the PACU.
  • The RN will document and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing actions and ensure a safe environment of care.
  • The PACU nurse is responsible and accountable for working with other departments to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of education to obtain Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with Texas Board of Nursing - OR - current home state license is required for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Active BLS (Basic Life Support) through AHA (American Heart Association) is required upon hire.

  • Active ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification through AHA is required upon hire.

  • Active PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification is required upon hire.

  • 1+ years of experience in a PACU hospital setting.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Experience with patient safety best practices
