Position Purpose: The Orthopedic Surgical Nurse Navigator is responsible for the navigation advocacy of surgical patients during the continuum of surgical care. The Nurse Navigator ensures patients are properly prepared for surgery, ensures patients are properly evaluated/scheduled for IP or OP/extended recovery, plans for discharge prior to admission to help reduce skilled nursing facility (SNF) admissions, decrease length of stay, and prevent re-admissions. The Nurse Navigator will act as a single resource for patients to contact when they have questions or concerns and will coordinate transitions between the phases of surgical care.

Status Available: Full time, benefit eligible - salaried position (80 hours per pay period - every two weeks)
REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE- BSN required, MSN preferred
- 3-5 years progressive clinical nursing experience in surgery or related field
- Graduation from accredited nursing program
- Canadian Nurses are encouraged to apply
