The Registered Nurse (RN) in PACU is responsible for overseeing patient recovery following surgery in a fast-paced outpatient surgery center. Duties include assessing vital signs, educating patients and families on homecare, and managing post-operative interventions. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment, providing high-quality care to ensure patient safety and comfort.
JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse/RN (FT)
SHIFT:
Looking for a Full Time PACU nurse for a fast-paced outpatient surgery center.
- PACU nurses are responsible for overseeing vital signs, changing bandages, and administering necessary medications
- Educating families and patients about homecare instructions
- Manage respiratory instability and cardiac monitoring activities
- Assess patient's condition after surgery is performed; ensure that all vital signs are within range
- Accurately and completely record all findings in patient's chart
- The Registered Nurse will develop individualized care plans based on patient's condition
- Monitors patient's condition changes and reports changes to healthcare team
- Perform intervention duties in the case of post-operative emergencies
- Record sedation levels and body temperatures
- PACU RN will Ensure the post-operative space is clean and sanitized
- The PACU RN will Perform other duties as requested

- Monday-Friday. Variable day shift with assigned late days. No holidays, nights or call.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing; current RN License.
- BLS and ACLS required.
- PALS preferred.
- Must have a minimum of one year experience in PACU or critical care equivalent area
