The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neurology Service Line demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate , safe, and efficient care. This position is responsible for the care of patients as well as the development of effective, professional relationships within the multidisciplinary team .
About the RN Role:
As a Registered Nurse in our clinics, you will be responsible for :
• Performing general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures related to Neurology.
• Triaging patient calls .
• Assisting with triage of i ncoming referrals related to neurologic sub - specialties and neurological need s .
• Patient education includes medication management , disease processes , etc.
• A cting as a clinical resource for medical assistant.

• Shift Details: Fulltime - 40 hours per week
• Location details: Lafayette Neurology, Lowry Neurology, Wheat Ridge Neurology clinics. Support is required once a week at each clinic with remote-office flexible work accommodations. Candidate is required to live in close proximity to the clinic and or Intermountain Health facility for meetings, orientation days, or technical Wi-Fi issues while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prioritize patient education by providing collabor ated care plans as designated by providers.
• C omprehensive training on medication management with imbedded Pharmacy Team , and medication reconciliation.
• S upport ing effective management of multi-specialty diagnosis related to neurology. I.E General Neurology - Brain Injury, Epileptology, Headache, Migraine, Movement Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuro- Ophthalmology, and Stroke Management .
• Triage calls and high-level care needs, MyChart messages, and walk-in patients effectively.
• Perform lab result outreach and monitor medication safety.
• Serve as a clinical resource for medical assistants and other staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Current RN License in the state of Colorado or compact license with the ability to obtain Colorado RN license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program, with the ability to obtain a BSN within four years unless possessing 15 years of continuous RN experience.
• Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association. Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• One year of experience in a clinic setting or inpatient acute hospital setting with experience in Neurology i s preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- and -May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
