Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing management and oversight of daily Nursing activities to a Nursing Department. The Nurse Manager works in partnership with Nursing leadership and other facility management and departments to ensure the provision of optimal patient care, attainment of financial goals, and development of leaders. Job Overview: Intermountain San Pete Valley Hospital is seeking an experienced and dedicated Operating Room Outpatient Nurse Manager to lead and inspire our exceptional surgical nursing team. This leadership role is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic professional to ensure high-quality patient care, optimize operational efficiency, and foster a supportive environment for our staff and patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the outpatient operating room, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of skilled nurses, fostering an environment of collaboration and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination of surgical procedures and outpatient care.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures that align with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage staffing levels, schedules, and resources to meet patient care demands effectively.
  • Monitor quality metrics and spearhead initiatives to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as a resource for clinical staff and provide guidance during complex cases or situations.

  • 40 hrs/wk
  • Hours vary depending on case start times and weekend call needs

Qualifications:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operating room nursing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of outpatient surgical care and OR protocols.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage competing priorities effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
  • RN license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Two years of clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • OR RN and Leadership Experience
Physical Requirements:
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess patient needs.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, etc.
  • In some cases (such as when required to provide patient care) Nurse Managers will have the same physical requirements as those of patient care RNs
