Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive care for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum, assessing both physical and emotional needs.
- Monitor labor progress, including fetal heart tones, maternal vital signs, and contraction patterns, adjusting as necessary in collaboration with the obstetrical team.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, administer medications, and recognize potential complications
- Actively engage in communication with physicians and other healthcare providers regarding patient conditions and treatment plans.
- Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Document all patient care accurately, including labor progress, interventions, and patient education, adhering to hospital and regulatory guidelines
- Promote a safe, compassionate, and healing environment for patients and their families, ensuring the highest quality of care throughout the birthing process.
Position Details- Shift: Per Diem (PDM) ; variable shift
- Scheduled Weekly Hours: variable
- Location: St Vincent Regional Hospital
- Work City: Billings, Montana
- Additional Details: Shift differentials given for evenings, nights and weekends
Minimum Qualifications- 1- 2 Years of Labor & Delivery Experience
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- ASN/ADN required; BSN must be obtained within four years of hire unless exempt
- Current RN license in the state of Montana
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification required upon hire
- Additional certifications (ACLS/NRP/PALS) as required by the unit
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Proficient in the use of technology and quick to adapt to new systems
Physical Requirements- Ability to see and read patient information, labels, and equipment
- Frequent verbal communication and quick response to emergency situations
- Manual dexterity for precise equipment manipulation, including computer use
- Capability to lift and transfer patients and equipment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Additional Information- Regular attendance during scheduled shifts is required
