The Staff Pad is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgical Services in Las Vegas, New Mexico. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our client's Surgical Services team. The RN will provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes. The RN will assist in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of care while adhering to established standards and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition during surgery.
- Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment in compliance with infection control policies.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and anesthesia support as directed by the physician or anesthesiologist.
- Serve as a patient advocate by providing education and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintain and operate surgical equipment safely and efficiently.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital policies, standards, and procedures.
Position Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience:
- Previous experience in surgical nursing, perioperative care, or critical care preferred.
- New graduates with strong clinical skills and a commitment to learning will also be considered.
Licenses/Certificates:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications preferred.
