POSITION SUMMARY: Directs and provides post-anesthesia nursing care for patients of all ages, utilizing the nursing process. Supervises PACU or pre-operative staff and may make decisions in the absence of management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION: Graduate of an NLN accredited nursing school.
- CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Current NM RN license, BLS certification (within 2 weeks), ACLS and PALS (within 6 months).
- SKILLS: Effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to nursing standards.
- EXPERIENCE: Preferred PACU, ambulatory care, or critical care experience.
SUPERVISION: Reports to Manager, Surgical Services.
ENVIRONMENT: Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, requires personal protective equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift and move patients and equipment; work involves standing/walking, with exposure to various conditions.
