POSITION SUMMARY: Directs and provides post-anesthesia nursing care for patients of all ages, utilizing the nursing process. Supervises PACU or pre-operative staff and may make decisions in the absence of management.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Graduate of an NLN accredited nursing school. CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Current New Mexico RN license; BLS required within 2 weeks; ACLS and PALS within 6 months. SKILLS: Effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to nursing standards. EXPERIENCE: Preferred in PACU, ambulatory care, or critical care. SUPERVISION: Reports to Manager, Surgical Services.
ENVIRONMENT: Exposure to bloodborne pathogens; personal protective equipment required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: May lift up to 50 pounds; work involves walking/standing; requires visual and auditory acuity.
