Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care tailored to the age of the patient population served.

This role ensures quality care is delivered safely and efficiently, in alignment with the unit's standards and the organization's mission and philosophy.

The Registered Nurse demonstrates professionalism, effective clinical practice, and a respectful approach toward staff, physicians, patients, and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care that aligns with unit standards and addresses the specific needs of the assigned patient population.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to patient rights and effective communication appropriate to developmental age.
  • Respond efficiently to emergencies and adapt to schedule changes as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Patient Care Director or Manager to ensure optimal care delivery.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
  • Current New Mexico RN license or a valid Compact state license.
  • BLS certification is required within two weeks of hire.
  • All other required certifications must be obtained within six months of hire and maintained thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population served.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to handle stressful situations professionally.

Certifications
  • BLS certification is required; other certifications may be specified based on department needs.
