Schuylkill Center is currently looking for a full time Registered Nurse (RN) Infection Control Specialist to assist with leading our nursing team. Requirements of the Registered Nurse (RN) Infection Control:

Must possess, as a minimum, an Associates Degree, or BS preferred and completed nursing school
Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in this state.
Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related healthcare facility.
Must possess a working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique to include standard/transmission-based precautions
APIC Certification in infection prevention and control preferred, but not necessary.
Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN) Infection Control Specialist:

Report all reportable diseases to the county and state health departments
Assist with in-services on wound prevention, wound care, ostomy care, and incontinence for the nursing staff.
Maintains a liaison with the residents, their families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for the residents' needs in relation to prevention and control of infections.
Assist in training department personnel in identifying tasks that involve potential exposure to blood or body fluids.
