Sentara Heart Hospital located in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Registered Nurse to work in the Cardiac Cath Lab

Up to $15,000 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified candidates. Relocation assistance can be provided.


This position is Full Time Day Shift, 7:00am to 5:30am working four ten-hour shifts per week. Will be required to take call.


Department Overview/Position

The Cath Lab is located on the second floor of the Heart Hospital.

Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse will float, monitor, scrub and have the opportunity to work with the following procedures: diagnostic caths, interventions, CTOs, Afib Watchman device, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), TAVR Heart Valve Replacement, Mitra clips, Left/Right heart caths, biopsies, cardioversions, Transesophageal echo, loop recorder implants, etc.

Registered Nurse with Critical Care, PCU, ER, Cardiac, Stepdown or Recovery Room will be considered.

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Education: Diploma RN, associate degree RN, bachelor's degree RN, or master's degree RN. All new RNs who do not have their BSN will be required to sign a BSN Agreement committing to enrollment in an accredited RN to BSN program within 24 months of hire and successfully obtaining their BSN within 5 years of hire.

ACLS and BLS Certifications required.
