Clinical Experience: Nursing Division is Magnet Recognized SUMMARY: This position is filled by a registered nurse who, as a result of educational and clinical experience in nursing, possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to provide nursing care. The Clinical Educator facilitates and provides for the educational needs of the nursing staff, coordinates the orientation of new staff, and serves as a resource for patients and others. Assists Nurse Director in identifying staff, physician, and patient needs and develops educational programs. Participates actively on hospital committees, collaborating with other hospital units and educators to enhance hospital-wide educational opportunities. Serves as a resource in developing relevant unit specific education by scheduling in-service programs for new supplies, equipment, and instruments. The Clinical Educator utilizes evidence based practice to teach clinical staff the safe delivery of high quality care to patients and families. Participates in needs assessment, content development, evaluation of education, and training activities that enhance the performance, professional development, and competence of unit staff. Responsible and accountable for teaching staff to provide care to the patient as well as the nursing decision regarding which tasks can be safely delegated to licensed and unlicensed persons involved in patient care. Responsible for providing evidence-based educational programs to patients. Must be proficient in a wide variety of high level nursing skills and be able to function on the unit. Responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care and promoting a team effort among co-workers. Responsible and accountable to know, own and energize the mission, values and standards of the hospital. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Associate of Science in Nursing required. Experience: Minimum of two years RN experience required. Certifications: BLS required. License: Current Arkansas or Compact State RN license in good standing. Other: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Basic computer knowledge required. Preferred: Bachelors of Science in Nursing. ACLS certification. Safety Sensitive Designation: This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. Has a keen sense of hearing and keen visual acuity to respond to critical changing patient situations from actual observations and/or equipment alarms. May be subject to inside environmental conditions, hazards (including electrical currents and exposure to high heat and chemicals) and infectious diseases.
