Overview Connected Care and the Center for Telehealth partner with healthcare providers and facilities throughout northern New England to provide the best and most timely care to the region's nearly two million residents. Connecting expertise to distant sites via telemedicine improves the quality of care and patient outcomes, lowers costs for patients and healthcare facilities, and improves patient and provider satisfaction.

The Center for TeleHealth was founded in 2012 with the primary objective of helping to deliver outstanding health care to the region independent of patient location. The TeleHealth services were designed to drive accessible, efficient, and effective care by complementing and enhancing programs and services provided in local communities.

Connected Care is seeking a Unit Nurse Manager who will plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the operational, fiscal, and personnel activities to ensure the provision of high-quality, safe patient/family-centered care 24 hours a day within the Connected Care TeleICU and TeleED telehealth programs. Additionally, the Manager advocates for and allocates available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate virtual nursing care. The Manager also collaborates with Dartmouth Health and outside hospital leadership to deliver high-quality virtual care programs by effectively aligning care delivery with the use of technology across the health system and region.

This position is onsite (Lebanon Campus) with flexibility.

• Champion the adoption and utilization of telehealth strategies and technologies and serve as a subject matter expert

Demonstrated Work Experience Includes:

• Developing, monitoring, and analyzing clinical operations data and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions to drive better clinical outcomes and manage the programs

• Identifying opportunities for best practices and continuous process improvement as well as active engagement in implementation and adoption

• Management of staff and processes to achieve outcomes and organizational goals in regard to clinical quality, patient safety, and patient experience

• Leading clinical work streams: new program implementations and innovations

• Developing, maintaining, and deepening relationships across a health system and other participating hospitals

• Serving as a nurse leader in Critical Care and/or Emergency Care

• Manages the hiring process to meet anticipated staffing needs. Plans adequate staffing and adjustments in alignment with patient volume and clinical needs.

• Evaluates and manages the performance of staff members, to include coaching and the performance management processes.

• Effectively manages the matrix relationships, including but not limited to providing input and feedback to the Connected Care clinical and programmatic stake holders to ensure clinical competency of staff, quality of patient/family centered care and professional development of clinical staff.

• Identifies opportunities for best practices and continued improvement and oversees implementation of such practices.

• Responsible for operationalizing best practices in team care coordination.

• Proactively accesses safety risks and promotes and models a culture of safety.8.

• Manages staff and processes to achieve outcomes and organizational goals in regard to clinical quality, patient safety, and patient experience.9.

• Manages to operational budget for the unit. Monitors patient revenues and expenses and operational expenses and provides required reports to administration.

• Assures that applicable regulatory standards are met in the clinical area. Assures that evidenced based practice and nursing practice standards are achieved in the clinical area.

• Assumes accountability for maintaining a safe work environment in alignment with Dartmouth-Hitchcock's commitment to employee safety and regulatory requirements including but not limited to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)and applicable state and federal law.

• Supports and/or participates in clinical research programs in collaboration with the interprofessional team.15.

• Leads clinical work steams in new program implementations

• Develop policy and procedures to ensure safe delivery of virtual care services across the programs

• Collaborates with outside hospital leadership in developing mission driven telehealth programs

• Actively participates in the evaluation and ongoing adoption and utilization of the multiple electronic health record instances used in the programs amongst the clinical team including the nursing and provider teams.

• Develops, maintains and deepens telehealth relationships across the health system and participating hospital site programs.

• Champion the adoption and utilization of telehealth strategies and technologies and as a subject matter expert

• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • Supervisory and/or management experience required.
  • 5 years of progressive responsibility within an acute care setting required.
  • Must obtain and maintain clinical competencies within assigned unit.
  • Clinical or professional certification preferred.

- Licensed RN with NH eligibility - BLS and ACLS both at hire
