Day and Night Shift available.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for nursing assessment plan and oversees the medical management of the client coordination with the attending medical provider. They are also members of the Treatment Team. The RN function under the guidance of their State Licensure within the facilities P&P and in accordance with State and Federal regulations.

Works collaboratively with Multidisciplinary Treatment Team
Engages in team interaction for care coordination/discharge planning.
Collects and records data in a comprehensive accurate and systematic manner.
Indicates and completes initial nursing assessment within 24 hours of patients' admissions.
Completes the admissions process from body search to assessments.
Properly and safely handles narcotics.
Properly counts narcotics at the beginning and end of every shift.
Completes COWS/CIWA scales 3x a day for detox patients and 2x a day for residential patients.
Complete at least one nursing note per shift including admission day and discharge day.
Evaluates the impact of therapeutic interventions upon a therapeutic milieu.
Knows and follows the company's policies and procedures.
Shares pertinent information with team as obtained from clients or family throughout program.
Collaborates with the medical staff to provide medical and nursing care.
Attends monthly staff and Performance Improvement meetings.
Documents client progress/regress according to established policies and procedures.
Engages in Phlebotomy as requested.
Assesses clients' needs to see a provider for H&P, discharge, and if needed for medications or illness.
Performs clinical nursing activities in a safe, professional manner.
Maintains compliance with established nursing care standards.
Supervises and instructs clients in medication self-administration, including the preparation and giving of injections as ordered by the medical provider.
Obtains lab specimens as ordered by the medical provider.
Assists clients in obtaining medication from pharmacy.
Provides health education groups, if necessary.
Continues with educational courses and in-service training, per policies and procedures.
Maintains personal education as it relates to evidence-based and evidence-informed nursing practice and patient care.
Maintains current CPR certification.
Maintains understanding of patient's rights per the Mental Health Code, upholds patient's rights, reports abuse of patients' rights immediately and assists patients with filing complaints, as needed.
Participates in obtaining the client's informed consent for care coordination, procedures, treatments, and research, as appropriate.
Demonstrates knowledge of medication actions, side effects, and contraindications.
Provides groups as scheduled and completes subsequent documentation in a timely manner.
Documents groups on the appropriate form, in a legible, accurate, clear, and concise manner.
Reports personal symptoms of suspected illness or contagious diseases to the Infection Control Designee.
Seeks supervision and/or direction when necessary.
Reports to work at assigned time and complies with attendance policy.
Performs other tasks, as assigned.

Education

Graduate from an accredited college or university with a minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred.

Experience

A minimum of 1 year experience, preferably in a substance abuse program or equivalent preferred.

A minimum of 2 years in recovery, if applicable

Licensure/Certification

Licensed to practice nursing in the State; maintaining current licensure per state requirements.

Maintains current CPR certification.

Knowledge and Training Required at Time of Hire

Knowledge of the Principles and Practices of the discipline.
Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.
Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication & Written skills.
Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Client Confidentiality laws.
Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.
Knowledge of Workplace Anti-Harassment/ Violence Policies.

Security Measures and Clearance

State and Federal Background Check, Education verification, prior employment verification, pre-employment drug screen and physical, and License Verification.
