Are you a Registered Nurse looking for a role in the Greater Atlanta area?
We have an immediate opening for an RN to work in a corrections setting in Cumming, GA. We have day shifts and night shifts available. Nights offer a $5/hour diff.
Will look at RNs with a background in ER, Urgent Care, etc. Candidates do not need to have direct corrections experience, but a desire to work in this setting is beneficial.
The majority of this role will be doing intakes for new patients coming into our facility.

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team in the Corrections setting. This full-time, permanent role offers the unique opportunity to provide high-quality healthcare services to a diverse population within a correctional facility. This position requires a strong professional who is ready to take on the challenges and rewards that come with working in a unique healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a strong commitment to ethical and patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Corrections, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Providing comprehensive nursing care, including administering medication, documenting patients' health status, and implementing individualized care plans.
2. Responding promptly and efficiently to emergencies, demonstrating sound decision-making skills and a calm demeanor under pressure.
3. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, psychiatrists, and social workers, to ensure the delivery of holistic and effective patient care.
4. Educating patients about their health conditions and providing them with the necessary tools and resources to manage their health effectively.
5. Adhering strictly to all institutional policies and procedures, as well as legal and ethical guidelines pertaining to the provision of healthcare in a correctional setting.
6. Participating in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in correctional healthcare.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the position of Registered Nurse (RN) - Corrections, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
1. Current and valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with previous experience in a correctional facility, acute care, or emergency room setting preferred.
3. Exceptional clinical skills, with a solid understanding of nursing principles and practices.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse patient population and healthcare team.
5. Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
6. Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and professional ethics.
7. Ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment, with the capacity to make quick and sound decisions.
8. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
9. Must pass a background check and drug screening.
The majority of this role will be doing intakes for new patients.
