Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the quality assessment and assurance (QA&A) program and quality assurance performance improvement (QAPI) activities of the facility in accordance with current state and federal laws and regulations.
- Identify the the facility's key performance indicators and establish an on-going system to monitor progress.
- Lead monthly QAPI team meetings and maintain all documentation.
- Conducts rounds, observing residents and staff performance.
- Develop, implement, and organize restorative care. Ensure plans are in place for each resident. Assist with the MDS meetings as indicated.
- Review and update care plans to reflect progress/changes.
- Must work as a medication nurse, treatment nurse or supervisor as needed.
- Assist Restorative CNAs as needed.
- Identify, manage and treat specific skin conditions.
- Obtain physician orders and provide wound care on assigned residents.
- Document changes in condition and monitor implementation of preventive measures.
- This position is included in the on-call rotation along with the Nursing Supervisors.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:- An unencumbered Mississippi Registered Nurse License.
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to long term care.
- Knowledgeable of nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
- Completed specialized training in infection prevention and control through accredited continuing education.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience with demonstrated success in a nursing position in a licensed nursing home preferred.
