Job Responsibilities:
Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team
Consistently provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. Incorporates differences into the provision of care. All patient care and interactions are patient and family centered
Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum to include patient and family education
Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others. Has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines
Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes
Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery
Leadership skills demonstrated in decision making and problem solving

Additional Requirements:
Work schedule: Full time Days, 3x12 hour shifts per week (7:00 a.m. - 7:00p.m.). Staff will be expected to work one major holiday and one minor holiday as well as 4 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule.
Education : BSN from an accredited school of nursing OR Associate Degree RNs that are within one year of completing their BSN.
Experience: A minimum of one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.( Two years of recent/current RN experience on an inpatient Postpartum Unit highly preferred with some charge )
Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start Specialty certification (as required by the unit) within one year of hire Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within the first 90 days of employment
Licensure: Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license upon start
