Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our hospice care team. In this role, you will provide holistic, patient-centered care to individuals with terminal illnesses, ensuring comfort, dignity, and quality of life during their end-of-life journey.
As a Hospice Nurse, you will assume responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans. You will utilize the nursing process, incorporating advanced technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence-based practices, and seamless coordination with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Tuesday through Friday day shift 8AM-5PM. Rotating on-call and holidays.

- Pay Rate: Competitive salary based on experience.

- Current RN License in state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers.
- Current driver's license, insured and reliable transportation and an acceptable driving record
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of their start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Two years working as an RN
- Previous experience in an Acute Care, Home Health, or Hospice setting
Physical Requirements:
- Visual & Cognitive Awareness: Must consistently assess and interpret patient needs, read and process information from monitors, labels, and documentation, and accurately identify equipment and supplies necessary for care.
- Effective Communication & Responsiveness: Engages frequently with patients, families, and healthcare providers, requiring clear verbal communication and acute auditory awareness. Must quickly and accurately comprehend spoken information, alarms, and emergent issues to ensure prompt, effective responses.
- Technical Dexterity & Documentation: Utilizes precise hand-eye coordination to operate complex medical equipment. Requires frequent use of computers for patient care documentation, accessing critical information, preparing medications, and performing administrative tasks. Also involves safe vehicle operation for travel between patient locations.
- Physical Strength & Mobility: Regularly performs patient transfers using appropriate lifting techniques and full-range body movement. Responsibilities include bending, lifting, retrieving, and carrying supplies or equipment, often handling heavy items.
- Mobility & Navigation: Assists with patient transport and ambulation, ensuring their safety and comfort. Must efficiently maneuver through busy and crowded care environments, including spaces with furniture, equipment, and potential obstacles such as cords or uneven flooring. Includes occasional stair navigation to access patient locations.
- Safe & Attentive Driving: Expected to operate a vehicle as part of routine duties, requiring continuous focus, safe driving practices, and the ability to read road signs, signals, and surrounding traffic conditions.
