Med/Surg 2 South Day Shift Position Responsibilities: The Charge Nurse accepts the responsibility and accountability for the entire unit during a designated shift and the evaluation and treatment of the populations. He/she is responsible for planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care of patients and for correlating the nursing process, the medical plan of care and policies. Will provide direct patient care when necessary. Reports to Med/Surg Director. Responsible for compliance with overall nursing practice standards of the specialty area (Reports to Department Director) Responsible for compliance with standards during assigned shift (Reports to House Supervisor) Uses established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the delivery of patient care during their assigned shift Uses independent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of patient care and appropriate use of available resources Position Requirements: Previous Charge Nurse or related management experience Minimum Six (6) months RN experience Current/Active RN license Current BLS and ACLS certifications from ARC or AHA At North Okaloosa Medical Center, we believe in providing convenient care in a comfortable setting.
