Responsibilities: - Develops and implements solutions to improve processes, reduce costs and improve customer/patient
- Evaluates quality of the services provided and collaborates on selection of foods and equipment needed
- Provides training to dining services staff, nursing staff, operational leadership and others as needed
- Monitors adherence to policies and procedures
- Assists in developing and managing food & nutrition services budgets in partnership with building leadership
- Keeps current and knowledgeable of proposed changes in state/federal regulations, as well as pertinent standards in other related areas
and informs supervisor - Monitors results of internal customer surveys and works with team to improve as needed
- Maintains all required medical records documentation including nutritional assessments and care plans for patients.
- Supervises Manager of Dining Services
- In the event Dining Services Manager is not present, Director assumes responsibilities including but limited to scheduling and ordering
of food in absence of Dining Services Manager, etc.
Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition
- Registered as a Dietitian in current state required
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in long-term care with some administrative responsibility
- Continuing education to meet requirements for registration as set forth by the American Dietetic Association (15 hours per year/75 hours
for 5 years) - Must have a valid drivers license
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
- Good computer skills including use of Microsoft Office and foodservice software
- Must be able to apply advanced expertise at this level necessary to address the most complex problems or solutions and mentor or
coach others in developing these same skills. - Communication skills including public speaking
- Technical and clinical competence
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient, employee and company proprietary information
- Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with patients, families, and other employees at all
levels.
