Job Summary
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading sales efforts across a multi-state territory, driving revenue growth, and managing a team of sales professionals. This role combines strategic planning, team leadership, and hands-on client engagement to expand market share and deliver machinery solutions. The ideal candidate is a proven sales leader with expertise, a track record of exceeding targets, and the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement a regional sales strategy to achieve or exceed revenue targets.
- Identify new business opportunities, targeting key accounts in manufacturing and fabrication sectors.
- Oversee large-scale deals, conducting high-level negotiations and ensuring profitable outcomes.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of Technical Sales Specialists (3-5 direct reports), setting individual and team sales goals.
- Provide coaching on technical sales techniques, client relationship management, and machinery demonstrations.
- Monitor team performance, conducting regular reviews and implementing training to enhance skills.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with high-value clients, acting as a senior point of contact for strategic accounts.
- Conduct on-site visits to assess client needs, oversee machinery demonstrations, and ensure post-sale satisfaction.
- Collaborate with technical teams to deliver time studies, flow analyses, and production optimization solutions.
- Market and Industry Engagement:
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and advancements in fabrication machinery.
- Represent Pioneer Machine Sales at trade shows, industry conferences, and networking events to promote brand visibility.
- Provide market feedback to senior leadership to inform product offerings and sales strategies.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Track sales performance, pipeline activity, and team metrics using CRM software, reporting progress to senior management.
- Prepare forecasts, budgets, and cost-of-part analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure accurate documentation of sales activities and client interactions.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of sales experience in industrial machinery, manufacturing, or related sectors, with at least 2 years in a sales leadership role.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Proven ability to drive sales growth and meet/exceed revenue targets in a B2B environment.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing sales teams.
- Technical knowledge of fabrication machinery (e.g., CNC machines, presses) and ability to oversee demonstrations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office, and technical tools like AutoCAD (preferred).
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma (up to 60% travel).
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment with flexibility for remote and on-site responsibilities.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: Annually, based on experience.
- Variable Pay:
- Commission: 2-5% of regional sales revenue with tiered rates for exceeding targets.
- Bonus: Performance-based bonuses tied to team and regional revenue goals.
- Total Compensation: $150,186-$214,919 for high performers, with top earners exceeding $250,000.
