Overview: The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for managing Neighborhood pet accounts within an assigned geography. This position will develop and execute sales strategies that drive the attainment of sales, profitability, and brand leadership goals. The role will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Sales.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage sales strategies in defined territory to achieve sales growth and brand development objectives.
- Cultivate deep relationships with key account stakeholders to influence decision-making and product placement.
- Manage quarterly and annual budgets, ensuring accounts meet or exceed targets.
- Utilize key levers to maximize brand awareness, differentiation, and sales within accounts.
- Manage daily sales operations within the assigned territory, ensuring alignment with sales plans.
- Conduct regular sales calls, implement promotional plans, and introduce new products.
- Train and educate distributor and retail sales personnel on product knowledge, nutritional information, and best sales practices.
- Optimize promotional spending.
- Review and approve chargebacks and pursue collaborative funding.
- Track sales processes and develop action plans based on data and provide regular activity and sales performance reports.
- Communicate changes to products, policies, and pricing structure to key accounts and stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
- Represent the company professionally in all interactions with customers, partners, and stakeholders
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in sales or business.
- 5+ years of sales and/or account management experience, preferably in the pet food (Neighborhood Pet)
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems and forecasting tools.
- Ability to analyze sales data and develop actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and time-management skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned region.
- Flexibility to work a minimum of 50 hours per week as needed to maximize objectives.
