Regional Sales Manager - Outside Sales - Fluid Power
World Class Manufacturer of hydraulic cartridge valves, custom hydraulic integrated circuits, and hydraulic and pneumatic in-line valves is looking for an energetic and committed Regional Sales Manager to sell fluid power solutions to existing and new OEM customers. Territories available include the East (East of Indiana) and the Lower Midwest (Indiana to Texas)
Essential Functions
Act as a point of contact for existing and prospective customers within the defined territory to solicit new business orders
Develop and implement a sales plan for the defined sales territory in order to drive new sales. This will include defining target markets, target accounts and customer requirements, as well as establishing contacts, coordinating engineering projects, providing customer and territory forecasts, preparing and executing action plans and generating sales
Communicate progress of the sales plan effectively through Salesforce to the Director of Sales & Marketing. This is to include, but not be restricted to, submitting scheduled territory reviews, weekly post sales call updates and pre-sales call plans, account profiles, and expenses on a timely basis
Evaluate & communicate market trends that can influence growth and profitability & gather competitive information
Support existing direct accounts as assigned
Support the distribution network in the territory as required
Work directly with OEM customers to convert an incumbent supplier to your solution on existing equipment and to earn initial OEM specifications on new equipment designs
Understand the product line versus competitor offerings and be able to effectively position the products and solutions as a superior alternative. This will require a sound understanding of both fluid power fundamentals and circuits along with the markets and applications in which they are applied
Continue to increase application knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining professional networks
Provide input to the sales team to help influence sales policy, pricing, marketing programs, budget preparation, and the Sales Department's strategic plans and goals
Travel as necessary within the territory
Position Qualifications - Skills and Abilities
Very organized with ability to work independently
Goal oriented with strong work ethic
Successful sales presentation and ability to close
Ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to gain acceptance of a product, service, or idea
Education
Candidate should possess at least a 2-year technical degree or technical certification. A 4-year technical degree is preferred
Experience
Fluid Power Sales or Design: At least five years
Other Requirements
Above average knowledge of the customer base within this territory
Certified Fluid Power Hydraulic Specialist is a plus
Willingness to travel 50-80% depending on applicant's living location
Proven successful track record in fluid power sales
Minimum 3 years' experience
Experience using CRM software is a plus
Experience with Microsoft Office 365
Valid driver's license & Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
