Position Summary:
  • Able to perform basic duties as below with generally 4-7 years experience with both robots and downstream equipment for plastic injection molding industry or other qualifying industry.
  • Begin to maximize market share by developing and executing a Sales strategy for each account.
  • Work with equipment sales to conceptualize manufacturing solutions for our customers.
  • Work with equipment sales and engineering to coordinate projects with customers.
  • Assist and begin managing manufacturer's representatives' sales efforts and support.
  • Knows the basics about our customer's plastic processing business.
Engineering:
  • Work with engineering and equipment sales to coordinate project details for orders and submit them with the Sales Orders.
  • Attends initial design review meetings to ensure Engineering has a full understanding of what was sold.
  • May assist Engineering, if requested, in contacting the customer after orders are submitted to obtain further information or explain project details.
  • Receive cost estimates from Engineering for customer requested additions to projects and assist equipment sales to prepare customer quotations.
  • Before an order is placed, use engineering resources to coordinate concurrent engineering issues and obtain engineering items that may be required such as mold design, part design, concept drawings, lead time estimates, prototypes, etc.
Division Management:
  • No direct responsibilities.
Financial/Accounting:
  • Properly submit expense reports in a timely manner to the National Sales Manager and keep expenses within annual budgets. Adhere to all travel policies.
  • Work with Accounting Department to check and resolve customer credit issues and collections when requested by Accounting Supervisor.
Legal:
  • Ensure all sales conform to the sales representative's contract and that all written correspondence concerning individual sales or sales contracts is done properly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the terms and conditions of our sales proposals are known by the customer and followed.
  • Ensure terms and conditions on customer purchase orders that are not our standard are negotiated properly, communicated internally, and approved by the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Adhere to customer secrecy agreements that the employee or company signs for each account.
Personnel:
  • Adhere to all company personnel policies and procedures.
  • Report attendance to the HR manager.
Data Processing/Computer Systems:
  • Track sales leads with computer database.
  • Use of Microsoft Office, Oracle, Visio.
Advertising:
  • Assist in developing advertising ideas and execute assigned portions of plans.
  • Assist in set-up, staffing, and breakdown of trade shows.
Sales:
  • Further to build relationships with customers acting like their business partners.
  • Ensures all customer requests are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensures verbal information received from or given to customers is in writing.
  • Perform preliminary conceptualizing and refine with inside sales to provide the maximum benefits for our customers. Be able to identify core products applications for customers in their factory.
  • Ensure all quote requests have sufficient information and are accurate.
  • As required, write up quotes and submit them to the Inside Sales Department.
  • Develop plans and execute them to sell to each account where YAI can be profitable for assigned territories. Ensure key accounts are planned first.
  • Under the direction of equipment sales, write-up or ensure all orders within the territory are submitted accurately and in a timely manner with complete specifications.
  • Assist customer with project implementation to ensure the project success such as training programs, initial design of parts/molds, and resources required.
  • Ensures Sales Representatives are properly trained on the company's core products, services, competitive advantages, and competition.
  • Monitor performance of Sales Representatives and make recommendations to the National Sales Manager to develop action plans to correct any deficiencies. Identify Sales Representatives Groups that are top performers and advise National Sales Manager for possible representation.
  • Provide a professional appearance, a high level of integrity, and quick response to demonstrate a high company image.
  • Handle most negotiations with representatives and customers including long term agreements with key accounts.
  • Able to negotiate basic orders without assistance and only refer unusual cases to the National Sales Manager.
Marketing:
  • Obtains and submits any competitive information for the company library.
  • May assist National Sales Manager in developing or executing marketing programs or studies.
  • Obtains competitive information and forwards it to the equipment sales group.
Professional Societies:
  • SPE
Periodicals/Journals:
  • Injection Molding
  • Plastic news
Customer Contact:
  • Visit accounts frequently within territory with Sales Representatives to identify applications, gather information, close orders, or obtain customer feedback.
  • Set-up and conduct customer visits to YAI.
Manufacturing:
  • Contacts Production to coordinate shipment and availability of stock robots or standard products.
Material/Purchasing:
  • Submits request for any items required to perform job to National Sales Manager for approval and assignment.
Quality:
  • Develop and maintain a positive attitude toward quality and strive for zero defects.
  • Gather ideas from customers and Sales Representatives to continually improve our methods, procedures, costs, products, and services.
  • Assist all Client Team members to live departmental and company mission statements.
Service/Training:
  • Coordinate Service issues and installations with the National Service Manager.
  • Obtain estimates from National Service Manager and provide service quotes with robot or system quotes.
  • Continuously train on customer's business, sales, management, and business fields.
  • Capable of understanding basic aspects of installations for all products.
