Job Details

The Regional Manager leads and manages a regional area of multiple locations and business groups responsible for profit and loss aligned with overall business plan and corporate guidelines and values. The Regional Manager has overall accountability for insuring construction projects are performed in a safe and effective manner. This role is fully responsible for cultivating and securing opportunities for future projects by providing excellent customer service, injury free work environment by ensuring safe work practices, maintaining quality assurance, and building financially successful projects that are driven by company directives. The Regional Manager typically oversees 35+ million in annual revenue volume depending on types of markets; with, Project Executives, Senior Project Managers and Project Managers reporting to them as well as most administrative staff members.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

1.Managing all business aspects with their team for multiple concurrent projects while concurrently ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining established quality standards.

2.Actively manage the workload, professional development, and client development skills of project management staff. Promote client development while developing professional skills of project management staff.

3.Promote positive customer relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, and continually instilling this philosophy in the business unit with regards to safety, Integrity, quality, customer service, and profitability.

4.Initiate, execute, and document a quality pre-con, start-up meetings, close outs using the PPM aligned with company standard.

5.Accountable for contract management, claims, and disputes resolutions.

6.Working with the Estimating department to review estimate, RECAPS and turnover, as well as the ability to estimate and procure electrical projects in a competitive market successfully.

7.Acts as a mentor for new and existing, Project Executives, Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Assistant Project Managers on properly managing their teams and Projects.

8.Perform weekly and monthly reviews with teams to ensure adherence to schedules, quality of work, safety, Integrity, administration, and profitability.

9.Ensure qualified personnel are in place for making specific project assignments that will meet with project deliverables and make specific project assignments to meet project needs.

10.Schedule, facilitate, and document project start up and close out meetings using the Project Planning Manual and all available tools. Verify project data sheets and photos (with client's permission) for all completed projects.

11.Drive Regional profitability through effective project execution.

12.Ensure programs and procedures are utilized.

13.Develop the organization to achieve operational excellence through mutual accountability and continuous improvement. Support lesson learned activity and implement identified initiatives.

14.Ensure adherence to companies' standards of Integrity, Quality, Safety, Profitability and best practices.

15.Recruit, manage, and develop the group of direct reports.

16.Responsible for work assignments, hiring, termination, promotions, and performance appraisals.

17.Review the overall contractual requirements and risks for all projects.

18.Manage project review process with emphasis on insuring accurate financial forecasting.

19.Provide Regional Budgets and Forecasts.

20.Ensure construction estimates are completed to align with project workflow and customer's master schedule.

21.Proactively and systematically communicate challenges, risks, and successes to the President, the team, and all direct reports.

22.Provides and maintain annual business plans in conjunction with the overall company, updating results on a quarterly basis.

23.Demonstrate a consistent ability to conduct daily tact and professionalism in communicating with external and internal customers.

24.Lead market development by identifying and pursuing high-value commercial and industrial electrical opportunities.

25.Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with general contractors and community stakeholders.

26.Drive regional expansion by overseeing the establishment of a 20,000-35,000 sq/ft offsite manufacturing facility/prefabrication shop.

27.Develop and implement a business development strategy to secure non-Data Center clients.

28.Other duties as assigned.

Normally supervises 100+ employees (both supervisors and non-supervisory, bargaining and non-bargaining). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and discipling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range or intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Education/Experience:

Master's degree (MA/MA) from a four-year college or university in Construction Engineering and Management; and 15+ years of experience in electrical construction and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ideally, will have a 15-year (or more) proven track record of successful project results.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, ViewPoint project management software, Bluebeam, and CONEST estimating software, and general Internet browsers. Expert level time management and organization skills, with strong verbal and written communication skills and the highest level of professionalism.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver's license. PMP preferred, but not required. OSHA 30. State electrical licensing.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires 60-80% travel with overnight travel as needed.
