The Regional Director will act as ambassador of the Bank to the external local market, cultivating collaborative relationships with wider external stakeholders including but not exclusively Political, Business and community. They will be responsible for managing, leading and developing a SME Business Banking coverage team for the local SME business market. The role will have full credit and operational risk oversight and supports the formulation and implementation of strategy.
The role holder will champion a customer-obsessed and winning mindset culture across the business and embed high-performance through SME Business Banking colleagues to better serve our customers. Responsible for developing a sustainable local business growth strategy, focusing the team on maximising the depth and breadth of existing customer relationships, with an awareness of cultivating new-to bank opportunities, whilst leveraging our network aligned with bank's overall goals. This role has full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility as a business head, as well as ensuring the delivery of fair outcomes for customers.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the execution of business objectives to drive revenue and achieve the Annual Operating Plan targets and key performance indicators, whilst building a sustainable business model through appropriate relationship building, customer contact plans and pipeline management for new and existing customers
- Be responsible for identifying sales opportunities that address specific needs for our clients and managing these from identification to point of sale
- Share key business management metrics with the front-line team to help leaders drive performance and coach colleagues
- Lead, drive and embed change and communication, and foster a positive and high-performing work culture
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement professional development plans
- Build and maintain business relationships with clients in assigned area of responsibility, and represent the region in leadership meetings and external events
- Confidently manage financial crime risk throughout the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risk
Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Excellent leadership experience, managing frontline teams along with proven coaching and performance management skills
- Extensive knowledge of the UK market, understanding the interplay between geopolitics and commercial outcomes, and connectivity with a range of stakeholders (i.e. customers, regulators, and employees)
- Experience in driving team and individual performance to achieve customer and financial targets
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a particular emphasis upon inspiring, influencing and negotiating in dealing with clients and colleagues
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, meet role demands and make prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
- Ability to understand a customers' business and priorities and interact with business customers at all levels
