The Application Engineer will work with our field sales personnel to grow our sales in unit handling conveyors and systems at new and existing customers. They will accomplish this through both direct sales calls throughout the Purvis geographical area as well as via electronic means (Teams, phone, video chat). They will assist with new applications (sizing, specifying, and designing) as well as existing applications (troubleshooting, repair, or replace). Additionally, they will support our internal engineering design teams to assist in the design and application of unit and package handling conveyors.
The day-to-day work of the Application Engineer involves meeting with customers and/or team members, providing technical advice and assistance on product selection and sizing, creating proposals or assisting in proposals with suppliers and team members, providing training to customers and team members, and assisting with product-specific marketing such as eCommerce.
As a Regional Application Engineer you will:
- Directly participate in sales efforts to close orders
- Coordinate large unit & packaging handling systems with various Branches and Regional Managers
- Identify target accounts and prospects
- Work with the marketing team to produce marketing materials and events promoting unit and package handling.
- Provide marketing suggestions for social media posts and other digital content
- Utilize AutoCAD, Solidworks, and manufacturer-provided software such as HEROES or HyCAD
- Provide advanced-level technical application support via phone, video conference, or in person
- Stay current on new products and technologies and educate Customers and Purvis Team Members about these new developments
- Determine final disposition of warranty claims and work with suppliers to resolve difficult cases
- Produce and present technical training for Customers and Purvis Team Members about unit and package handling conveyors

Skills & Abilities - Strong knowledge of unit handling, engineering principles, and creative problem solving
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- The ability to work autonomously and completely independently.
- Must have strong organizational skills and discipline.
- Proficiencies: Computer Drafting Software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD), Microsoft Office, Teams
- Good driving record
Education & Experience - Prefer a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics, or equivalent experience
- Five (5) years of conveyor, mechanical design, or industrial engineering experience
- Background in unit and package handling conveyors and systems a plus
Job Type: Full time, 8 hour days M-F
Travel: 50% minimum domestic
Location: Fort Worth, TX near I-35W & I-820
