Recreation Therapist - Director of Activities Full-Time Reseda, CA

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial and quarterly assessments to evaluate patient abilities, interests, and needs
  • Develop and manage personalized recreational therapy plans in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
  • Lead and coordinate daily group and individual therapeutic activities-including art, music, movement, and cognitive stimulation
  • Supervise and guide CNAs delivering recreational programming
  • Utilize community resources to plan safe and engaging off-site experiences
  • Educate patients and families about therapeutic goals and progress
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of services and patient outcomes
  • Foster a warm, inclusive, and responsive therapeutic environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy or Occupational Therapy
  • CTRS certification (required) or applicable licensure/certification in a related specialty
  • 2+ years of experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions or in patient activity roles
  • Experience in an acute psychiatric or geriatric care setting is highly preferred
  • CPR/BLS, valid CA driver's license, and TB/health clearance (or willingness to obtain within 90-days of hire)
  • Strong communication skills and an enthusiastic, patient-first mindset
