Manager of Fun, Recreation Manager
Responsible for creating a robust program for events and activities throughout the year to generate leisure travel from art, wellness, culinary, music, and other opportunities. During the peak summer season of July and August, the primary purpose is to serve the internal guests with light recreation and family/youth activities and manage the family and resort swimming pool experience. Will collaborate with the marketing director who will assist in promoting online presence to support the programming throughout the year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree preferred. Prior experience in Marketing, Programming and Recreation in a resort or similar environment. Strong guest service background. Ability to provide a high level of service, programming, and instruction for our guests and team members. Excellent computer skills required. Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Capable of multi-tasking. Professional appearance and demeanor. Valid driver's license.
Desirable:
Degree in recreation, hospitality, sports management or similar. Previous hospitality experience. Knowledge of recreation programming and facility management. At least 3 years of prior recreation experience. First Aid, CPR, and AED certified.
SKILLS:
Able to work with other operating departments on property. Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude, demeanor, and approach with guests and coworkers. Written and verbal communication skills required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for the development and implementation of experiential programing, recreation/activity and fitness operations for the resort, to include all programing of resort amenities and activities seasonally.
Work in collaboration with the Marketing department in creating unique seasonal programing to elevate guest experience and attract new clients to the hotel while creating and maintaining relationships with key partnerships and vendors of the resort. Evaluate equipment and facilities, and adapt activities to participant needs. Review activities and conduct inspection tours in areas of responsibility to ensure desired standards of quality, service, cleanliness and controls are maintained. The ability to develop relationships with members, return guests, group contacts, etc., to provide maximum, personalized guest service. Must be able to hire recreation staff and properly train in procedures, policies, regulations, Cliff House service standards, and hospitality skills. Coordinate special events, holiday activities, and year-round activities. Responsible for the appearance and safety of the recreation and the luxury pool experience (service/chairs/linens) seasonally based upon established standards in coordination of F&B operations and services with teams for pool in peak summer months. Develop a sense of community, familiarity, professionalism, and friendliness for the departmental operations. Responsible for creating and scheduling fitness and wellness programs for members seasonally and guests year round. Responsible for operating within the established budget and for assisting with the creation of the annual budget. Work with necessary departments to ensure the proper marketing and promotion of the recreation programs and facilities. Ability to implement scheduling and assist in cost controls measure as well as comply with best financial practices for procurement of products and billing of any events.
