The Records Clerk performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties in support of our corporate client's records management needs including file creation and maintenance, data entry and filing. You will utilize your customer service and communication skills to assist customers with their document needs and to process intake of new documents and archive when needed. The ideal candidate is a nimble learner, detail oriented, customer focused and enjoys collaborating with others to achieve shared objectives. This onsite position is located near downtown Indianapolis at our client's offices.
What you'll be doing: - Provide documents to staff via online requests and in person
- Log incoming documents into database
- Populate and keep current a database of all documents/records received into the Library
- Day-to-day management and organization of the filing system including shifting files, making new folders when folders become overcrowded, ordering supplies, etc.
- Annually purge documents which would include removal from the shelves, transferring and organizing into boxes, logging information into the database and preparing the necessary documentation
- Attend meetings and communicate with management regarding changes as they may occur, opportunities to streamline the activities, customer service, etc.
- Report generation as needed
- Route and distribute documents to internal customers
Requirements: - 1-2 years' customer service, file room, records management or medical office experience; Some college desirable; degree a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word & Excel) and Internet navigation
- Strong, professional written and verbal communication skills; Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience with office equipment (i.e.; copier, scanner, fax, etc.)
- Flexibility in schedule to work some overtime as needed
- Ability to climb stairs, bend and reach for filing, lift up to 40 lbs. and walk 1/4 mile between libraries up to twice per day and from parking lot to facility; Must be able to work in the vicinity of Vancomycin and Penicillin
- Will be required to pass drug screen and background check
