This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in person at their designated approved HQ location at least four (4) days per week and as needed/required. Beginning July 1, 2025, all DGS employees will be required to work in office at their assigned HQ location four (4) days per week and as needed/required in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I of the Plan Review and Field Oversight Support Unit, the Office Technician (Typing) serves as the Electronic Document Technician being responsible for various clerical duties which includes but not limited to, the drafting of project status correspondences, maintaining records and manuals, utilizing eTracker database, DGS Correspondence Style and Format Guide, and established office guidelines in order to assist and support the compliance of Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR).

Special Requirements
•   The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Additional information regarding acceptable typing tests is available at the CalCareers.ca.gov website.
•   Ability to type at a speed of not less than 40 words per minute from ordinary manuscript or printed or typewritten material.
•   Employment History on the STD 678 (State Application) must be complete and include dates, accurate hours per week, total time worked, duties and responsibilities, and contact names and phone numbers of supervisors. Resumes or other documents cannot substitute a state application. Applicants who fail to submit a completed STD 678 (State Application) may be disqualified.
