Alcohol and Drug Freedom Center of Knox County is seeking a full-time Receptionist to provide administrative support services for our organization. This office-based position accommodates a work schedule between the business hours of 8:00am - 6:00pm and reports directly to the Administrative Director. This position provides a comprehensive benefits package, including:

As the Receptionist, you will be uniquely situated to support not only our staff, but our clients as well. When working with our clients, you greet them upon arrival, check them in for their appointments, and review their account status with them. When new clients arrive, the Receptionist will complete an intake process with them, recording all necessary information and scheduling the client with an appropriate counselor. This process also includes assisting the new client with their paperwork and explaining the intake process and fee plan. Additionally, the Receptionist will:
  • Verify Medicaid eligibility when applicable.
  • Accurately enter client demographic data into electronic client record.
  • Scan documents to client's electronic health record.
  • Provide appointment-reminder calls to clients.
In addition to providing confidential and courteous support to our clients, the Receptionist aides the agency staff by answering and screening all incoming calls, maintaining the agency schedule, and assisting with external correspondence including fax and mailings.

To be qualified for this position, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

A successful applicant will:
  • Have excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Have general computer and office-equipment knowledge.
  • Maintain confidentiality of our clients.
  • Treat our clients and staff with respect.
  • Have at least 1-2 years of demonstrated receptionist experience.
Experience in a healthcare setting and with medical records, medical billing, and medical coding are preferred.
