Position
Responsible for greeting and directing individuals visiting Heritage High School; answering the switchboard; directing calls to appropriate individuals throughout the school. Monitoring visitors; posting meetings and locations; other duties as assigned in support of the school office.
Essential Duties - Serve as first point of contact for Heritage High School, leaving a positive first impression with visitors and callers, providing professional, efficient and friendly customer service with the highest standards and
professionalism. - Assist visitors and answer general inquiries.
- Manage a multi-line phone console including answering incoming calls, forwarding caller to appropriate individuals or voicemail and taking and forwarding messages.
- Organizing daily mail for the school.
- Assist principal's office and communications office with special projects, research, etc. as needed.
- Maintain inventory and ordering of supplies for office and reception area.
- Maintain announcements and events on Visix system monitor.
- Assist the administrative staff with morning announcements.
- Attend district training and meetings, as appropriate.
- With prior approval from principal's office, assist other departments
Education - High School diploma or equivalent.
- Criminal background check required for hire.
Experience - One to two years in related experiences in similar field.
- Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Oral and written communication skills; English language skills.
- Interpersonal relations skills; Customer service and public relations skills; Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations.
- Personal computer and keyboarding skills; advanced computer hardware and software skills; operating knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office and Google.
- Operating knowledge of and experience with general office equipment, including telephones, copier, fax machine, etc.;
- Knowledge of operating, installing, supporting and maintaining PCs and associated application software preferred at hire.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Bilingual oral and written communication skills preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions; Ability to manage multiple priorities.

This is a full time position, 8 hours per day and a 200 days/year. Starting salary is Grade 4, $18.41/hour - 200 days/year
