Overall Purpose The purpose of the receptionist is to greet and direct visitors; compiling and distributing materials and reports; and responding to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources.
Essential Functions - Answers school/District site telephones for the purpose of responding to inquiries, transferring calls, and taking messages.
- Greets and assists individuals entering the building for the purpose of responding to inquiries and directing individuals to appropriate locations, in accordance with established building security procedures.
- Assists parents and school staff for the purpose of ensuring efficient daily site operation.
- Responds to inquiries from internal and external parties for the purpose of providing information in compliance with established guidelines or directions and facilitating communication among parties.
- Maintains building information for the purpose of providing updated and accurate reference information.
- Performs general clerical and administrative support functions for the purpose of supporting school operations.
RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED Certificate required.
Physical RequirementsExerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to10 pounds of force as needed to move objects. Generally, the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Education/TrainingMinimum three (3) years experience or and equivalent combination
of training and education.
