(Contingent upon available funding): 18.75 - 23.50, Hourly Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: The Receiving/Necropsy Lab Supervisor is responsible for oversight and assisting with management of daily laboratory functions including processing diagnostic specimens, data entry, assisting pathologists on operating complex equipment and harvesting specific animal organs, maintenance of clean and safe laboratory spaces, laundry, sample management, and disposal of animal and laboratory biohazardous waste.The lab supervisor will work closely with the Receiving/Necropsy Manager to assist with initial and ongoing training of technicians and student workers, delegating daily tasks to technicians and student workers, maintaining inventory of lab supplies, ensuring quality of service to internal/external clients, maintaining laboratory equipment and all other duties assigned by the lab manager or section head. Regular working hours will be 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Special Instructions to Applicants
Education & Experience Position Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED and four years of customer service, technical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in animal science, biology, ecology, zoology or related field. Five years' experience in animal diagnostics or related setting. Supervising experience. General knowledge of mammalian anatomy and ability to recognize major organs and tissues.
