Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Perform all activities related to product and materials shipments into the company on a daily basis, including recordkeeping, reporting, and tracking.
- Verify quantities received vs. Bills of Lading; check received material for damage or quality issues & complete the Commodity Receiving form.
- Pull samples for ingredient verification.
- Enter receipt of goods into the MAS500 system.
- Resolve receiving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with maintaining the Meat Receiving Logs.
- Confirm exceptions and unusual deliveries; track the order back to the originator internally to verify.
- Establish a JIRA claim when there is a raw material non-conformance upon receipt.
- Check in and assist drivers at the north shipping & receiving dock.
- Unload raw materials from trucks on inbound shipments.
- Provide assistance with the transferring of finished goods from the south wing cooler (570) to the north finished goods cooler (590) if at capacity, to avoid cooler overload.
- Consolidate all product in the north Finished Goods cooler.
- Monitor the recycling trailer and containers (totes & barrels) for pick-up.
- Provide backup assistance to the Expeditors when needed.
- Operate the baler to compact corrugate cardboard for recycling.
- Verify forklift equipment is in good operating condition prior to operating at the start of the shift; follow all established forklift safety procedures.
- Verify, receive, and ensure timely delivery of maintenance items
- Comply with all safety rules and regulations per established company policies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must have the ability to manage multiple complicated priorities/tasks and work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with lot tracking and traceability is preferred. Previous forklift experience is required; must be able to acquire forklift certification upon placement in the position, if not already licensed.
Education and/or Experience A minimum of a GED or high school diploma is normally required. A minimum of 3 years warehouse inventory management experience is required, preferably in a USDA-regulated food manufacturing environment. Previous forklift and material handling experience is required.
Communication Skills Must have strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as Bills of Lading, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to interface effectively with other partners, and must be able to train others the receiving portion of the operating system.
Computer Skills Must have basic computer proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet. Previous experience with MAS 500 or related integrated manufacturing software MRP or ERP system is preferred. Experience with bar coding systems is also preferred.
Mathematical Skills Must have accurate basic math skills.
Reasoning Ability Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form. Must possess strong trouble shooting skills and exhibit strong judgment and decision-making skills.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the partner is frequently required to sit for extended periods; walk; sit and talk or hear. The partner is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, with repetitive motions of hands, arms and shoulders. Must be able to lift up to 50 on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. There is a wide variation of temperatures (45 F in the stuffing room, 35 F in the coolers and blending, and 100 F in the tower) in the various production work areas. The work environment is wet and slippery most times, and each partner is required to wear footwear to ensure firm footing in all conditions. The noise level in the production work environment is usually loud. Partners are required to wear frocks, hearing protection and hairnets at all times on the production floor, including the coolers and warehouse areas. Gloves, goggles, face shield, rain suits and rubber boots will be required at different times in the course of the work being performed.
