Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with high-value commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, financing, leasing, and development deals.
- Coordinate and perform due diligence activities, such as title and survey review, environmental reports, and zoning compliance.
- Draft, review, and organize legal documents related to commercial real estate transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, loan documents, closing binders, and title documents.
- Support the closing process by preparing and organizing necessary documents, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update contract databases, track important deadlines, and ensure adherence to transaction terms and conditions.
- Communicate with clients, title companies, lenders, surveyors, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and facilitate transaction completion.
- Conduct legal research on complex issues related to commercial real estate laws, market conditions, and regulations.
- Assist in identifying potential risks or issues in transactions and recommend strategies to address them.
- Oversee post-closing activities, including the execution and filing of necessary documents, and ensure all post-closing requirements are met.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal in commercial real estate, with a focus on high-value transactions.
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate terminology, documents, and processes.
- Proficiency in reviewing and preparing complex real estate documents, including title reports, contracts, and closing documents.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with legal research tools, real estate software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Annual salary between $90,000 and $100,000, commensurate with experience.
