Real Estate Counsel

Location: Washington, DC area (hybrid - 3 days onsite)

About Company/Opportunity:

We are a rapidly growing company with over 125 locations nationwide. We are expanding and planning to add 25+ more locations this year. As part of this growth, we are seeking a talented Real Estate Counsel to join our legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work on all legal matters related to our real estate portfolio, providing strategic guidance and legal support.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide legal counsel on commercial contracts and leasing matters.
2. Negotiate lease agreements.
3. Advise on lease management issues.
4. Build strong relationships with landlord legal counterparts.
5. Create and maintain contract templates.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure company-wide understanding of legal provisions.

Must-Have Skills:

1. 4+ years of commercial contract experience.
2. Ability to handle a high volume of leases.
3. Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

1. Retail store leasing experience is highly preferred.
2. Training in contract law or real estate law.
