A global law firm is seeking an experienced Real Estate Counsel to join its nationally ranked Real Estate Practice. The position focuses on complex property development work with a strong emphasis on renewable energy projects. The successful candidate will support utility-scale energy clients in matters involving title, site control, acquisitions, leasing, and due diligence. This is a collaborative role that provides opportunities to engage with sophisticated transactions and a cross-functional legal team. Remote options may be considered for select markets.
Location Duties - Represent clients in complex real estate and property development matters, particularly related to renewable energy projects.
- Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, and letter agreements.
- Counsel clients on utility-scale project development including:
- Site control
- Title insurance
- Survey matters
- Review and analyze title commitments and surveys.
- Draft curative instruments to address title defects and assist with title insurance endorsement negotiation.
- Work closely with title companies, surveyors, and developers to ensure project compliance.
- Support renewable energy developers through real property acquisition and leasing processes.
Requirements - 7-10 years of real estate legal experience.
- Experience with renewable energy project development strongly preferred.
- Extensive experience in title review, site control, and curative documentation.
- Ability to independently manage and negotiate real estate transactional documents.
- Background working with large developers, energy clients, or utility companies.
Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
Certifications - Active and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
- Admission to the bar in the office location (or eligibility to waive in) preferred.
Skills - Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Skilled in real estate transaction project management.
- Comfortable working collaboratively within cross-functional legal teams.
- Ability to effectively advise clients in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
