A global law firm is seeking an experienced Real Estate Counsel to join its nationally ranked Real Estate Practice. The position focuses on complex property development work with a strong emphasis on renewable energy projects. The successful candidate will support utility-scale energy clients in matters involving title, site control, acquisitions, leasing, and due diligence. This is a collaborative role that provides opportunities to engage with sophisticated transactions and a cross-functional legal team. Remote options may be considered for select markets.

Duties
  1. Represent clients in complex real estate and property development matters, particularly related to renewable energy projects.
  2. Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, and letter agreements.
  3. Counsel clients on utility-scale project development including:
    1. Site control
    2. Title insurance
    3. Survey matters
    4. Review and analyze title commitments and surveys.
    5. Draft curative instruments to address title defects and assist with title insurance endorsement negotiation.
    6. Work closely with title companies, surveyors, and developers to ensure project compliance.
    7. Support renewable energy developers through real property acquisition and leasing processes.
Requirements
  1. 7-10 years of real estate legal experience.
  2. Experience with renewable energy project development strongly preferred.
  3. Extensive experience in title review, site control, and curative documentation.
  4. Ability to independently manage and negotiate real estate transactional documents.
  5. Background working with large developers, energy clients, or utility companies.
Education

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.

Certifications
  1. Active and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  2. Admission to the bar in the office location (or eligibility to waive in) preferred.
Skills
  1. Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  2. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  3. Skilled in real estate transaction project management.
  4. Comfortable working collaboratively within cross-functional legal teams.
  5. Ability to effectively advise clients in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
