We represent one of the largest tax lien purchasers in Maryland and the District of Columbia. As our client expands its footprint and real estate portfolio, we are seeking a skilled, entrepreneurial real estate attorney to join our growing legal team and play a pivotal role in this exciting growth phase. Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated, business-savvy attorney licensed in both Maryland and the District of Columbia to support the firm's litigation practice and expansion efforts. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in real estate transactions, litigation, and asset management, with a working knowledge of tax lien acquisition, foreclosure processes, leasing, and related enforcement matters. This is a dynamic role that blends legal practice with strategic business thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in tax sale foreclosure litigation and related real estate matters in Maryland and D.C. courts.
  • Collaborate closely with the firm's in-house paralegal and provide litigation and strategic guidance.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts related to real estate acquisitions, financing, leasing, and property management.
  • Develop and execute legal strategies to enforce equitable and contractual rights.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for expansion into other recurring revenue streams, in alignment with the firm's entrepreneurial mission.
  • Advise on risk management and compliance with state and municipal real estate laws and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in both Maryland and the District of Columbia (required)
  • 3+ years of relevant real estate or litigation experience preferred
  • Familiarity with tax lien law, foreclosure processes, and real estate development strategies is highly desirable
  • Strong courtroom and negotiation skills
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently
  • Ability to commute to office
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Experience working directly with clients and managing multiple priorities
