RCM Verification Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Insurance Verification Rep to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying patient insurance information, ensuring accuracy in medical records, and facilitating communication between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical insurance and being able to communicate that with the patients

Duties
Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments or procedures.
Communicate with insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations for services.
Review and update patient medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Maintain organized documentation of all verification processes and communications.
Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve any discrepancies in patient information.
Provide exceptional customer service to patients regarding their insurance inquiries.
Stay informed about changes in insurance policies and managed care regulations.
Communicate effectively with the patients regarding deductibles and coinsurances.
Retrieve medical records from outside providers.

Experience
Previous experience in a medical office.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements is essential.
Knowledge of medical coding practices, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems.
Experience handling medical records and understanding managed care processes is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for interacting with patients and insurance representatives.
Bilingual English/Spanish
