BlueHalo is looking for a highly talented Range Safety Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support the MDA Targets and Countermeasures Engineering Directorate (MDA/TCE) and provide assistance across the targets portfolio, including flight termination system and range safety requirements development and verification. This will involve supporting Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Contractor-Furnished Equipment (CFE) hardware and software development, acceptance, qualification, integration, and checkout. You may also be called upon to support component failure investigations and participate in review boards. As a Range Safety Engineer, you will serve as an expert on behalf of the Targets Program Office during flight tests, Range Safety Working Groups, and functionality testing. You will play a key role in requirements development, oversight, and verification for flight termination system products and other related range safety functions. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the success of missile defense and complex DoD programs. Key Responsibilities: Serve as Range Safety expert for the Targets Program Office during flight tests, Range Safety Working Groups, and functionality testing. Provide oversight in the development, allocation, and verification of requirements for targets flight termination system products, including autonomous flight termination systems. Ensure proper oversight of GFE and CFE hardware/software development, acceptance, qualification, integration, and checkout. Assist in preparing summary and detailed reports documenting status, findings, and recommendations. Represent the interests of the customer in Working Groups, forums, and Technical Interchange Meetings. Required: Master's degree with 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD programs; or a Bachelor's degree with 20+ years of experience in missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD programs. Active Secret clearance. Proven ability to work independently or lead teams to analyze and resolve complex problems. In-depth working knowledge of Range Safety Requirements. Experience with flight safety analysis and related analysis products. Proficiency in Range Tracking Systems (including inertial measurement, Global Positioning System (GPS), C-band tracking). Proficiency in RCC-319 Flight Termination Commonality Standard and RCC-324 Global Positioning and Inertial Measurements Range Safety Tracking Systems Commonality Standard. Ability to work in a dynamic environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and resolve time-sensitive issues. Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to brief and prepare technical documentation. Desired: Highly Desired: Familiarity with autonomous flight termination systems. Experience in Flight Test Range Safety. Background in batteries, RF systems, ordnance and ordnance devices, and antennas. 10+ years of experience in defense and aerospace industries.
