Radiology Technologist

Location: Southwestern Minnesota (with travel to a nearby city)

Work Type: Regular

Work Shift: Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends

Pay Range: $26.75 - $40.00 (Actual pay rate dependent upon experience)

Hours: Day/Evening Shifts; Approximately 1-2 days per week in one location & approximately 3 days per week in a nearby city; On-Call Rotation approximately 1 day a week in the nearby city; Weekend/holiday rotation.

A Brief Overview:

Accountable for the proficient operation of radiographic and CT equipment to provide clinically diagnostic images as directed by physicians.

What you will do:
Perform various radiology procedures accurately, efficiently, and according to established standards and protocols.
Initiate proper intervention with the radiologist or referring practitioner when an exam indicates immediate attention.
Review the appropriateness of indications for ordered exams and report inappropriate indications to a supervisor.
Provide complete and accurate exam data for interpretation by the reading radiologist.
Utilize computer systems such as PACS, RIS, HIS EMR systems and perform general clerical duties.
Archive image data for permanent storage and appropriately send images to the radiologist group. Retrieve stored images and create CDs successfully.
Demonstrate an understanding of medical and legal implications and responsibilities related to imaging reports and images to protect the patient and the organization.
Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environment, and infection control.
Assist/mentor staff/students with on-the-job training, clinical rotations, and orientation.
Assist with the analysis, collection, and maintenance of records as required by department management, Quality Improvement, regulatory standards, or law.

Essential Qualifications:
Must be able to work the hours specified and travel between work locations.
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties.
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
Associate's degree or a certificate of completion from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
ARRT Certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 60 days of hire.
