About the Company - Our client, a well established community college in Vail Valley Colorado, is seeking an experienced higher education Program Director to lead the development and launch of a new Radiologic Technology program. This is an exciting opportunity to build a program from the ground up, influence curriculum design and help support the growing needs of the community health care institutions as well as provide the skills and training for students to pursue a career in radiologic technology. The Program Director will be charged with fostering a strong learning environment for students entering the radiologic technology field. Responsibilities include ensuring that offerings of the program articulate with the institution's mission, vision, strategic plan and learning outcomes as well as state and national standards accreditations, and activities designed to meet campus academic requirements and student engagement.



About the Role - This is a year-round, administrative, non-faculty staff position. The Program Director will be responsible for the comprehensive development, leadership, and oversight of the Radiologic Technology program. While primarily administrative, the position includes teaching assignments and coordination of guest lecturers and community presentations.

40% Teaching/Faculty:

  • Preparing course material, monitoring progress and attendance, meeting with & advising students, recording, submitting grades & assisting instructors to help prepare the curriculum and syllabi.
  • Supporting the accreditation status for the AAS of Radiologic Technologist degree.
  • Meeting established course, program and learning outcomes.
  • Supporting guest andommunity lecturers.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum of 2,000 hours of verified, paid direct work experience in the past five years. OR
  • Associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum of 4,000 hours of verified, paid direct work experience in the past five years is required.
  • Teaching Experience: one year full-time higher education or industry related teaching experience or equivalent as part time instructor. Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in the program, or eligible to be credentialed to teach in the program.
  • Must hold a current unrestricted certification and active registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) or Radiologist Assistant (R.R.A.). Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required.
  • Position requires a valid driver's license and ability/approval to operate college vehicles, including high occupancy (HOV) vehicles at times.

Preferred Skills


  • Master's degree in radiologic technology or related fields from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience in teaching, training, and leadership in the field of radiology.
  • Experience as a community college instructor in one or more medical related disciplines.
  • Management experience in the medical field.
  • Knowledge of academic administration, curriculum development, and clinical coordination.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities.
