Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist II is responsible for performing advanced diagnostic imaging procedures to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role includes operating and maintaining imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures, and collaborating with medical staff to produce high-quality diagnostic images. The Radiology Technologist II adheres to all regulatory standards and protocols, continually updating skills and knowledge to keep pace with advancements in the field of radiologic technology.

Job Duties
Assists management with in-services on the use of x-ray equipment and radiation exposure.
Assists management with monitoring safety practices with the Lab, dealing with radiation exposure.
Performs all functions of invasive lab as needed.
Instructs patient of pre and post-procedure limitations and restrictions.
Operates and monitors radiographic/x-ray equipment during procedures.
Provides accurate information to family throughout procedure when needed.
Keeps accurate patient charges.
Ensures physicians have signed, dated and timed all required paperwork.
Maintains complete patient records pre-procedure, during procedure and post-procedure.
Educates patient of pre-procedure, during procedure and post-procedure events/instructions.
Completes pre-procedure, during procedure and post-procedure assessment of pain.
Monitors patient's pulses and V/S while in holding status and relay accurate information to the appropriate person.
Maintains hemostasis while holding venous/arterial pressure.
Provides accurate pre and post-procedure instructions to patient/family.
Checks all equipment, ensuring proper functioning.
Facilitates resolution of conflicts or problems within the team.
Serves as resource person and accepts delegated authority as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications
Associate Degree graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology required
2-4 years clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist required
3-5 years clinical experience in Invasive Lab setting preferred and
3-5 years supervisory experience preferred
ARRT Radiography Certification required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in performing routine and specialized radiology procedures.
Knowledge of radiology equipment and technology.
Ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
Strong communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
Attention to detail in preparing patients and operating equipment.
Knowledge of patient safety and radiation protection principles.
Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Problem-solving skills to address technical isssues.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Licenses and Certifications
ARRT Radiography Certification required and
BCLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire required and
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support as required required
