MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, AND completion of a two-year New York State approved Radiologic Technology Programs AND three (3) years of paid full-time experience as a technologist.
This position requires all shifts as needed

Wyoming County Community Health System is currently looking for hire a Radiologic Technologist III (Mammo Tech) for our Radiology Department. This is technical work involving responsibility for supervising and performing the work of special procedure exams and taking and developing radiographs for diagnostic purposes. This work is performed under the general policies and procedures. Considerable leeway is given for the exercise of independent judgement in carrying out details of the work. Supervision is exercised over the work of Radiologic Technologists and other subordinate personnel. Other duties as assigned. This is a per diem position with flexible hours and days, one - two days per week. Competitive salary based on experience and credentials.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
Responsible for quality control procedures and continuing education of staff in radiology;
Prepares and positions patients correctly for radiologic, fluoroscopic and special procedure examinations.
Prepares all opaque media used in various examinations, such as gastrointestinal work, intravenous pyelography, barium enema, etc.
Assists Radiologist or other Physicians by operating types of x-ray apparatus;
Operates a portable machine and takes films at bedside and OR;
Translates Doctor's orders involving technical surgical procedures into appropriate x-ray procedures;
Confirms patient ID and procedure;
Develops and processes films;
May perform routine office duties;
Supervises the radiology department in the absence of Chief Radiologic Technologist;
Requires to perform such procedures involving the computerized axial tomographic radiographs, nuclear medicine, DEXA, mammograph, angiography.
Films scans onto hard copy film and transfers scan to optimal disc;
Keeps workroom, equipment, accessories and cassettes clean;
Other duties as assigned.
