Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM
- Every other Saturday (Will get a day off during the week)
Responsibilities:
- Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to examination specifications.
- Position patients on the examining table and adjust equipment to obtain optimal views of specific body areas as requested by physicians.
- Monitor patients' conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to physicians.
- Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scans.
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Review and evaluate developed x-rays, video tapes, or computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
- Determine patients' x-ray needs by reading requests or instructions from physicians.
- Prepare contrast material, radiopharmaceuticals, or anesthetic or antispasmodic drugs under the direction of a radiologist.
- Process exposed radiographs using film processors or computer-generated methods.
- Provide personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to coworkers, customers, or patients.
- Use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Operate machines or processes using control mechanisms or direct physical activity (excluding computers or vehicles).
- Enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information in written or electronic form.
- Stay up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job.
- Use hands and arms to handle, install, position, and move materials, and manipulate objects.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Active listening and learning skills.
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Russian, Chinese).
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Ability to sort and file material correctly by alphabetical system, basic math, and keyboarding skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Attention to detail, flexibility, and focus are essential.
- Ability to multi-task in an environment with constant interaction and frequent interruptions.
- Ability to protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
